Quizizz is a question-and-answer tool that operates like a gameshow. It offers a variety of features to help engage students. Teachers can edit questions and lessons, teleport existing quizzes with 1-click, and customize reports for every assignment.
It also offers a host of gamification options, such as leaderboards and question timers. These can be turned off if the competitive element doesn’t serve students well.
Quizzes
Quizizz is an educational tool that provides instructors with multiple tools for engaging students in the classroom. These include teacher-controlled, student-paced lessons and quizzes. This software also allows teachers to create their own questions, add images, and video clips. The quizzes can be played on any device with an internet connection. Teachers can access millions of public quizzes to use with their students. These quizzes can be used for formative assessments, homework assignments, and practice.
Quizzes on qiuzziz are interactive and fun. Unlike other flashcard systems, the platform lets users interact with the questions and answers to help them retain information. This makes it an ideal learning tool for classrooms with a diverse population of learners. The quizzes can be customized with music, meme feedback, and other features that will make it feel more like a game than an assessment. Quiz makers can also add a leaderboard to increase competition and motivation. This feature is customizable, and can be turned off if it doesn’t serve the purpose of the assessment.
There are several different types of quizzes on qiuzziz, and each one has its own unique features. For example, the image question type allows students to identify multiple relevant areas on an image. This allows them to think deeper about the subject matter and learn how it relates to other concepts. Similarly, the open-ended and fill-in-the-blank question types allow students to give more detailed explanations of their answers.
The qiuzziz app allows students to see their results instantly, and it’s easy for them to retake a quiz to improve their score. The app also offers detailed reports for each student and class. Teachers can also share these reports with parents to keep them updated on their child’s progress.
The website is user-friendly, with a simple layout that guides new users through the process of making and taking a quiz. Users can create a quiz from scratch or grab an existing public one. After creating a quiz, the user can click on the “Save” button to save it for later use. A user can also organize quizzes into collections by clicking on the “Create Collection” button. Collections can be shared with other teachers and students to encourage collaboration.
Lessons
Lessons offer a new way to engage students in classroom learning with presentation style teaching and fun tools. They can be used to review for tests, prepare for an upcoming assessment or simply for deeper learning. The software also provides teachers with valuable data to help guide instruction. There are several different lesson types available for various content areas and grade levels. Whether you want to use a straight up quiz show style assessment or one that is more interactive, it’s easy to find the right lesson for your class.
The beauty of lessons is that they work live and asynchronously (homework). They can include slides with media, text, images, audio, or video as well as questions in multiple-choice, true-false, fill in the blank, checkbox, open-ended, or polls formats. As a teacher, you control the pace of the lesson by pause after a slide, go-between slides, reopen questions, and more.
Another amazing feature is the ability to “teleport” questions from other Lessons or quizzes into your lesson. Just click on “Teleport Questions” and a question bank with your topic will APPEAR, LIKE MAGIC!!! Then add the questions to your lesson. Your students will love it! Lessons also contain fun power tools like Spin the Wheel to pick student volunteers in a game show style and an online whiteboard to further enhance the interactive experience.
Gamification
Gamification offers an exciting learning environment that increases student engagement. It uses game elements to improve educational systems and support educators in the process of learning. Gamification also encourages students to participate in social activities and provides them with a sense of achievement. However, there are some obstacles that may prevent teachers from using gamification in their classes. Some of these include a lack of awareness of the system, problems with implementation, and a lack of training and socialization. This study aims to examine these obstacles and explore how gamification can be used as an innovative approach in the classroom.
Gamified learning is a trend that has been growing in popularity among teachers and students alike. Two examples of this are Kahoot and Quizizz, both free online learning applications that allow users to create multi-player quizzes. Both applications allow students to answer questions at their own pace, and teachers can monitor the progress of each student on any device. The results of these assessments can be viewed in real-time.
Previous research explains that gamification is a powerful tool that influences learning. For example, gamification can stimulate the students’ interest in learning content and encourage their participation through competitive activities (Eugenia et al., 2013; Hatlevik et al., 2018; Orhan Goksun & Gursoy, 2019). This can be attributed to the excitement and enthusiasm that students feel when they compete with each other in the Quizizz application. In addition, gamification can strengthen the students’ emotional engagement by introducing funny images or memes after each question is answered correctly or incorrectly.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the gamification of Quizizz on students’ intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The data were collected from 63 students of Building Engineering in Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi Mara (KKTM) Sri Gading, Batu Pahat who took the course of Mathematical Engineering. The data was analyzed through the non-experimental method. The results showed that the gamification of Quizizz significantly increased students’ intrinsic and extrinsic motivating factors, especially for the points construct. The conclusions of this study suggest that gamification is an effective method for improving student motivation in the digital revolution era of the 21st century.
